The reserved table was large and was made specially for everyone in Sonic's friendship circle. Rouge had it sectioned off where no one but her friends were allow to use so it was often empty. The area was roped off to designate its space. The table itself was round with one single booth seat wrapping around half of it. The other half was open to allow servers to distribute meals.

Sitting at the table tonight was Sonic, Amy, Silver and Blaze. Seeing just the four here, Maria was a little bummed, "The rest couldn't make it, huh?"

Sonic shook his head, "Nah. They got stuff going on and Rouge is working the club right now."

Always the one looking at positive side of things, Maria smiled, "Well, I'm glad that you four could make it."

The gang scooted in their seats to make room for the three hedgehogs to join them. Scourge was the first to slide in followed by Maria and Shadow sat near the edge.

"So how has it been, Maria? We haven't talked in a while," Amy began, "Last I heard, you had a string of doctor visits."

"Oh yes," Maria folded her hands together in her lap, "I've been exhausted from going from office to office and all these tests." She raised both hands to gesture, "I was hoping we would reach a point where things would settle down but that doesn't seem to be the case."

"I don't understand what else they could be testing for," Amy raised a brow, "I mean, it's not like they don't know what you have."

"They're trying to find ways to cure it or at least better manage it," Maria sighed, directing her eyes up for a moment. Then she looked at Amy, "But we should be soon ready to finish my grandfather's work."

Sonic leaned forward in his seat and crossed his arms over the table, "You mean they're finally gonna use Shadow to cure you?"

"That's the plan," Maria turned her head to Shadow and smiled. Shadow was immortal and immune to all diseases. There had to be some way to be able to use that to free Maria of NIDS before it took her. Shadow was happy to do it. Maria was all he cared about and the one thing he didn't want was to lose her. Taking her chin with his forefinger and thumb, Shadow tilted her head up a little more and they kissed on the lips.

Scourge frowned. To be honest, he was jealous of what Shadow had: a way to cure Maria. It wasn't something he could do. All these abilities he had and none could cure diseases. Actually there was a lot the green hedgehog was jealous about with the black hedgehog. This was just one of those things.

But he was among company. He needed something to help quell his jealousy to be able to keep good face. Scourge reached over and took Maria's right hand and kissed the back of it. When Maria ended the kiss with Shadow, she turned and kissed Scourge on his cheek to return his show of affection.

Suddenly, a large bear approached the table and slammed a fist on it, rattling the cups and startling everyone. "Scourge!" he yelled, "I'm gonna kick your ass for what you did!"

Instinctively, Maria jerked back in her seat, eyes widened as she stared at this unknown, angry bear. Amy and Silver also jumped back in their seats. Blaze and Sonic tensed, unsure of what to make of this situation. But hardened by a difficult life, Shadow and Scourge weren't startled. Instead, Shadow held his arm out in front of Maria for shielding, ready to jump into a fight if need be. Fortunately, the bear's target seemed to be only Scourge.

Putting on an apathetic act, Scourge just rolled his eyes, "You're gonna have to be more specific, pal. I've done lots of things."

The bear reached across the table and grabbed Scourge by the jacket with both hands, yanking the green hedgehog up from the seat. They were right in each other's faces, "I'll beat you extra just for that!"

Everyone started leaving the table to get away from the pair as they sensed a fight coming and didn't want to get sucked in.

Scourge was no stranger to fights. He had fought Sonic how many times? And he was always scrapping with degenerates when he was out on his own. Then there was his "gigs" he would go out and do on occasion. Those came with some tumbles. Getting into a fight was just another day for Scourge.

Grabbing the bear's forearms, Scourge swung a kick to the bear's side, causing the large guy to stumble backwards. Pulling himself higher, Scourge kicked the bear in the side of his head, which finally freed him from the bear's grasp. He landed on his feet and rammed his body into the bear, knocking him out of the reserve area.

The bear grabbed one of the rope poles and swung it at Scourge, hitting him square in the jaw. The other poles toppled over as the bear used the one for a weapon. Scourge tumbled back from the force of the hit and collided backwards into a server, knocking the unassuming person to the floor. The tray he was carrying fell and spilled the contents all over the floor, even breaking one of the glass cups.

Sonic winced, "Rouge is gonna be pissed."

The bear may wield strength but Scourge had a speed advantage. He zipped to the bear's backside and jumped up, kicking the back of the bear's head and sending him down to the floor. The bear quickly rolled over and kicked Scourge to the side, sending him into a table set, taking down the furniture item and throwing everything it had on the floor. The couple that were sitting at that table got up and fled with the woman crying out.

It was at this point that Route arrived with security flanking her sides. Hands on her hips she looked at Scourge and the bear, "I will not have fights in my club! If you both can't cool it, out you go!"
